Things to note
- Don’t get too hung up on bolt length. Get something longer than required and cut it down with a dremal or hacksaw.
- Some reprap parts lists don’t include the extruder parts, so make sure you read what you need for those as well.
- Please add comments for other places you have bought stuff or for things I need to fix.

You can also get stuff from Mitre 10 or Bunnings but it costs a bit more for some things and not everything is available.
8mm Threaded rod
Can get them from a fastener shop such as Hylton Parker or EDL
Comes in 1m length.
You can also get it from Mitre 10 or Bunnings but it costs a bit more. Again 1m lengths
8mm Smooth rod
Can get it from Mico Metals. They call it ’round rod’ and it’s actually 7.94mm which is fine. Cost is $26.30 incl. (Oct 2013) for 4m. They will cut it to 2x 2m for you in the shop.
Springs
Get them from Mitre 10 mega or Bunnings. Or elsewhere?
Recommended springs:
CENTURY SPRINGS: C-652 2 in a packet x2 for 4 total. ( 5.563 x 34.926 x .711mm ) to connect the top plate ot the bottom plate.
C-676 1 in a packet Cut it in half (11.125 x 53.975 x .813mm) to go on the x-axes.
MDF
Buy it from Mitre10 or Bunnings. If you go inside the shop you should be able to buy just .6 by 1.2m of it. Rather than having to buy a huge sheet.
608 Skate bearings
Any skate shop ask for skate bearings there is only one size but different bearing quality.
